Owner snapped bat crazy

We had a wedding recently and hired 80 odd underplates and when we received them they were chipped and cracked. After the wedding we returned them to Hire it and the owner complained about the state of them. I said to her that the underplates were already damaged when I collected them. She then went on to smashing them on the table infront of me saying that everyone breaks things and doesnt expect to pay for damages. I cant believe this happened. This was very unprofessional and uncalled for.
