Hired equipment issues - no refund paid to us

We got married at Avianto on 3 October 2013. We hired underplates, chairs and an aisle carpet from Event Inspirations. All money was paid upfront with a refundable deposit of R 800. After our wedding all 60 underplates went missing. After investigation between everyone concerned, it was discovered that the staff at Avianto collected the underplates and placed them in another venue and they were NOT returned to Event Inspirations as instr. This is NOT our responsibility. Then, THREE weeks after our wedding, Helen informed me that there was a cigarette burn on the carpet used for our ceremony. She obviously blames our guests for this and was actually sarcastic about it. We informed her that we refuse to accept responsibility for the underplates going missing and also for the burn on the carpet as we were not informed immediately of the burn. We do not know who removed the carpet and where it was stored for 3 weeks after the wedding. To date we have not received any more communication, NO RECON OF THE ACCOUNT AND NO REFUND. They are disorganised. The carpet was laid at the ceremony area only mins before I walked down the aisle. Guests and groom secured carpet on stairs!!!
