Greg Carstens Auto Trade
Reluctant to repair under guarantee vehicle

Miscellaneous

We bought a Citroen Picasso from Greg Carstens Auto Trade in Aug 2013. We enquired about the excessive smoke coming from the car but first the salesman told husband it's only when starting up and the owner Greg Carstens told him it's so because it's diesel. When we got home we found there was NO oil in the car, dipstick was dry. Hubby reported this to the owner and wanted to return the car for something else but Greg was not prepared to exchange the car. In Nov13 we eventually traded the Citroen for Ford Focus 2L TDCI at same garage. Mr. Carstens gave us R10 000 less on Citroen and had to pay him R7800.00 extra for the Ford Focus. Ford took forever to start so Mr. Carstens recon it just needed a stronger battery, the problem was still the same after buying a new battery and eventually the car started to stall and goes 20 km/h. We had the pump tested (no fault cost us R1200) car had same problem and eventually just died. After numerous phone calls and email Mr. Carstens promised my husband IN PERSON that he will have the car fixed in January 2014. When hubby took the car to Mr. Carstens, was out. The salesman Jetee called Mr. Carstens who was told that he never said he'd fix the car.
