Just like every South African in the Country I have now fallen victim to SCAMRAL's tactics to unregistered E toll users. I use E roads infrequently and thus have not registered for an E Tag. Since the launch I have been awaiting the arrival of my statement either via post email or SMS (didn't know SMS were legal tender for invoices). Yesterday i finally get an email stating I am in violation, my account is 7 days overdue and penalties have been applied. I called the number on the email to be greeted by the rudest individuals known to man. I first spoke to Shonisani who couldn't wait to get me off the phone even though none of my questions were answered about why I hadn't received a bill in the first place and how I am already in violation. all she told me was every 7 days you are late, they add 200% to your bill each time. When I asked if the amount on my bill would match the amounts on the board she advised no, it will be whatever amount they deem fit!!! I then spoke to the Team leader (John) who was just as rude as Shonisani. he made every excuse about me not having a bill, even lying about a postal strike. I Need this resolved ASAP and to know how much I ACTUALLY OWE!
