Frozen chicken from ice age

My wife bought two boxes of frozen chicken for an event, after cooking the food with all the chicken, the whole pot of food had an unbearable stench. It was clear the food went off. we had to improvise to feed our guests. My wife went to the manager, he said he there was nothing he could and referred us to the owner's wife, Rafeeqah, who did not want to compromise or admit that it was their frozen chicken that went off. She claimed that we took too long to report it and that frozen chicken cannot go off while cooking. She also claims that the containers of frozen chicken are tested by a State vet lab. Because we added fresh chicken we bought from another butcher, she claims that it could be that batch, which is unlikely because we ate from that chicken which we kept aside.
They are making liars of us, we do not appreciate that.
