HPCSA
HPCSA Lack of Service Delivery

Miscellaneous

I am an intern educational psychologist in Durban. One of the HPCSA stipulations is for my internship programme to be submitted the year before I do my internship for their approval. I submitted a hard copy of my internship programme in October 2012 and then an electronic copy of the programme in December 2012 on request by the Council. I have subsequently submitted this programme at least two more times in the new year due to lack of response from the Council. Eventually my internship programme was allegedly discussed by the educational committee at a meeting in May. Since then I have made repeated attempts to contact relevant persons about approval of the programme to no avail. The excuse used is that the minutes of the meeting still need to be read through. Yesterday I was informed the programme has to be sent to members of the educational committee, this was supposed to have happened in May. It is now almost a year later and I cannot write the Board exam to qualify without this letter and I really do not know what else to do. This is completely unacceptable service and I am shocked that an organisation can operate like this.
