Handed over with no correspondence for nothing

I received an sms from this VVM attorneys to say that "failed" payment for my TV license has now been handed over. Apparently I owe R600 on my tv license???!?! Huh??? First of all I NEVER even received mail or any sort of correspondence reminding me that payment was due! Secondly my license had been paid for last year and thirdly how did it get to R600 knowing full well that it had been paid for last year! I FAIL to understand. Where's the correspondence telling me that payment was due??? I have not received ANY! Now that sure is not the way it should be done... Is it? Help me understand that first!
