Extortion and Harassment

In January 2013, JM Attorneys started sending me SMSes regarding an alleged debt I have with the now defunct fitness club. When I called them to find out the facts, they could not give me valid reasons regarding the debt. I know for certain that I do not owe the club anything, as I had a contract with them to provide services that terminated when they were liquidated and when they were taken over by Virgin Active; I was mandated to continue paying with the understanding that this was the continuation of the initial contract.

How does JM Attorneys then come out of the woodwork, after more than 10 years, and claim that there is a debt I owe to the company that ceased providing services? I believe that the company is looking for gullible people to fatten their bank accounts!
