Yesterday I received an sms to call these people about a Health and Raquet account. Knowing this is incorrect, I called the number and after waiting 15 mins to speak with a consultant only to be told I owe them money for a failed payment of a hundred and something Rand from May of 1998.

I now according to JM Attorneys owe their "client' (who ever this may be as H& R liquidated in 2001) over R 2000.Please note that even if I did (which is incorrect):
The Prescription Act, No. 68 of 1969 covers the extinction of debts by prescription and are specifically dealt with in sections 10 to 13 of the aforesaid Act. Section 11 (d) states "save where an Act of Parliament provides otherwise, three years in respect of any other debt"
The period of prescription has come and gone many years ago and as such the debt is eliminated.

Please change and correct your records. If you continue to harass me in any manor for this so called outstanding debt, I shall lay a charge of harassment against your company.

I will also take this matter further with the Law Society & Credit Ombudsman should you fail to rectify this matter within 21 days.
