I've phoned MBD on the 27th of May 2013 requesting a settlement amount and asking when can I receive a paid up letter. The reply was tomorrow. On Tuesday I phoned it was Friday, Friday morning it was afternoon. On Monday I phoned I was told that there is an outstanding balance of R200.I explained to her that I've paid a settlement amount already last week. She said if I did then I qualify for a 20% discount of which I did not receive. I phoned the customer care centre and I explained my concern that is discount was not granted and paid letter. The lady (Flora) was very rude, she told me that she is the one who is responsible for closing and opening my account. The first reason for not granting a discount because I don't qualify. Second I didn't apply for the discount and the third one I've already paid. I asked her how would I know all the process if the consultant did't explain to me. It was even worse when she told me that I don't have any right to listen to the first consultant who told that I qualify for a 20% discount. She decided to hang up the phone. Finally I received the letter today. I feel sorry for the customers who are handed over to MBD.They service is very BAD.
