12 months ago I contacted Gridhost to host my domain. It was a BIG BIG mistake.
Yes they have a fancy website and their packages may be very tempting.
It's a nightmare when it comes to "engaging" with the people at their call centre. Their website belies the fact that it could be a one-man operation, because we always get the same one person answering the call. His name is Miran, or something like that. When we tried to get my domain up and running, I got another IT person to help me by calling Gridhost: he too was very frustrated at the way Gridhost works.
Now that my 12 month contract is over, and I DON'T want to renew the contarct-the frustration has started again. Again we have to engage with this Miran guy. I have instructed my new IT contractor to deal with them.
Miran REFUSES to disclose who owns Gridhost. This in itself is dogey.
Although their voice prompts announces 3 departments, most times Miran answers all, even the accounts prompts.
Also I am personally taking up the matter with the CPA Ombudsman because of their contract.
