Loosing a customer instead of helping

Originally i phoned customer care and explained to them that i needed to go to a lower plan thus paying less as i cant afford the package im on at the moment. I explained to them that i forgot all about the fact that they only change their plans every Jan of every year just because ive never had a problem with them didnt think to change it there and then. Also i didnt have the financial problems then which ive got now!

I asked them to change the plan to a cheaper one, even though they say im upgrading?? They just came back saying sorry, cant and wont be done!

I then thought well what ill do is cancel the membership and take out another membership on my wife's name. After cancelling and applying for the new membership, i received an email confirmation to say they will phone me back within 3 days... never happened! 2 weeks later i had to phone back just to find out that it was rejected. We then applied again, thinking they will phone us, also never happened!!
Now today is the 30th, from tomorrow i dont have medical aid and have to rush now to find!
Today the guy basically led on to me that they would rather loose me as a good paying customer (not missing once) that to help in need?
