Lack of communication and poor service

When the Constantia gym closed down for renovation, you where able to notify me. I am an active member, but due to my husband getting ill I did not go for a period & together with the renovations it now seems I did not go enough times and my membership has been cancelled. I was never warned that I was needing to go to avoid this at any stage and know this is comman practice as my daughter is on the same program and has shown me both a email and sms where she was warned that she needed to go or forfeit her membership. I only found out my membership had been cancelled once someone phoned me to ask whether I would like to renew my membership. When mentioning no thank you, I am a member, the they told me I am not. When I asked why they had not called me to warm me they said they only let you know by email and even then it was just a courtesy. I am a retired and don't use email so its no courtesy for me & I don't understand why they could sms me to let me know the gym is closed but not to warm me about something as important as loosing my membership. Why is your communication so inconstant and do you seem to only communicate in a method that benefits you.
