Boiled Steak???

We went to House of Coffees at GrandWest for a quick bite Saturday 23 Feb 2013. Both my husband and i ordered the prego steak roll. The service was great, and then came the food. The menu says its marinated steak, but th steak looked like something that was boiled, no marinade no spices NOTHING.
So the waiter called the manageress, her response... Oh i'm so sorry, we have been in contact with our head office, but they said we are not allowed to use any spices on our steaks. And that is why it looks like it was boiled.
Really??? If your menu says marinated steak, how can it look like something that was boiled.
