Paying for a service I don't have

On the 28 January I contacted Discovery Health to apply for Medical Aid. The forms were emailed to me, I completed and sent through the dame day. I took a home pregnancy test on Friday, 1st February and the test was positive. On the 03 February at 10am I was called by an agent from Discovery who confirmed receiving my application, I had mentioned to him that I had discovered I was pregnant and also advised him that I was not interested in the medical aid if Discovery could not cover me giving birth. He understood this and asked me to go to the doctor to get this confirmed.
I went to the doctor on Monday, 4th February and completed the relevant tests which proved I was indeed 6 weeks pregnant. I scanned and emailed this note to Discovery the next day. Yesterday, 7th February, I received an sms stating my application had been approved. I contacted Discovery immediately to confirm if they will be covering my labour but they said that they had not as yet received my letter and only covered me and not my maternity. I once again told the consultant that I wanted to cancel immediately but he asked me to, hold on for confirmation from their underwriters. I called the call centre again
