Melomed Private Hospital
Treated like a street dog at a private hospital!!!

Firstly I was admitted 2 hours after the time, my surgery was delayed by a further 3 hours and I was not even given food whereas my other ward mates of colour were given food (mind u I am paying the same amount of money as my white mates). Secondly the doctor who did my surgery (Dr Visser) just went home without coming to check on me or to let me know that I was discharged. Out of frustration at 20:00pm I got up and went to ask the nurse what is going on. They told me that I had been discharged in the afternoon already! How was I supposed to get home at that time because there were no public taxis available anymore??? To top it all the nurses were rude and abusive and one of them even tried to hit me. I am paying thousands of rands in this hospital but I believe even a dog would have received better treatment than I did. Then they told me I would have to pay for an overnight stay in other words I would have to pay because of their incompetence. This is totally unacceptable and someone needs to account for this. I will not pay for an overnight stay and I want that in writing
