My daughter had her gall bladder removed and was taken to ward where no-one checked on her till visiting hours. No sign above her bed saying 'nil per mouth' and we almost gave her liquids as it was over 5 hours after surgery. Had to ask nurses to phone Dr for aftercare instructions. Was discharged the next day and nurse did not order meds prescribed by surgeon for nausea and pain. Only received meds prescribed by physician. My daughter enquired about surgeons meds but was rudely told he didn't prescribe. This resulted in us bringing back to Hosp in intense pain and severe nausea causing her to gag intensely and strain her wounds. She had to be readmitted for 2 nights to get meds through drips to settle her. Surgeon confirmed he had prescribed meds. Also terrible care and hygiene in wards. Care in recovery room after op was disappointing. Doctors care was fantastic though. Only reason we tolerate this facility.
