Mystery billing, unjust collection attempt

I terminated my membership with Momentum Health in 2011 and had to pay in a sum of R6700.00 as
settlement for advances on the member's savings portion. On 14 January 2014 I received an SMS from their
collection agents, Blake & Associates and a subsequent phone call claiming I owed Momentum R 248.97. I
asked for a statement which I received which had no explanation for the due amount. I settled the amount immediately. I then phoned Momentum to a) ask why this amount was handed over as I had not received any
correspondence or notification from them, even though they still had all my correct details b) what was the
amount of R 248.97 for? The call agent said they would get back to me in 48 hours. Nothing happened. I phoned Momentum again today, January 28 2014, to follow up for an explanation.
I was told that the account had been handed over in error, but I still could not get an explanation for the R248.97 that I paid. I then asked to speak to a supervisor -after holding for 20 minutes I was asked to send proof of payment, and that I would be phoned back with an explanation as to what the amount was for. Never mind an apology or a credit for a mystery debit, I'm still waiting.
