Simply don't bothe

We went to Lakenvlei over Dec 31st-5 Jan. We checked out 3 days early due mostly to (stayed 1 night, wanted to leave on the 1st, but there was no-one on duty. so we left the 2nd):
broken shower door
Broken toaster and oven
Light globes out (many)
Rats in the unit - we had to dispose of bread, fruit and my son's bottle after they got in it
General state of disrepair of the unit and surrounding areas.

there is also NO FISHING FOR TROUT - because they have not yet applied for their new permit.

I have waited 21days for a response to try and get a refund for some or all of the moneys paid. I got one today. The response form their manager "There will unfortunately be no full refund from my side due to the matter at hand only brought to attention of the lodge upon the decision to depart and not during the stay - bar the fact that if any of the mentioned issues were raised during your stay and not upon departure - a conscientious decision could have been made."
The office was closed on the 1st. I tried to tell reception? So I don't understand what was expected of me. Paah! Forget it.

In my opinion - Just stay away. It really is so far removed from the Pasella featured glory days..
