Tropicana River Lodge
Not as advertised/poor "management"

We bought a daddy's deals voucher & were completely disappointed upon arriving at the lodge. The place is advertised as 4 star & have the plaque displayed in the reception area but is more like a 2 star place in reality. We had filthy pillows (brown stained) with no pillow cases on the bed, old towels, the blinds on the door were broken, the couch was ripped/torn, dirty wet dishes were packed into the cupboards, the sink/toilet had a leak, the side tables were falling down/worn out and the place was swarming with flies (i have pictures of everything). We asked for the manager to contact us immediately which he did not do so i called him eventhough he was at the lodge. When we spoke to the "manager", Ricardo about the boat trip and champagne specified in the voucher he insisted that it was not included. he said that it was an error. when i asked him who proof read the advert before daddy's deal went live with it, he said it was him but he had "missed" that part. he did not apologise for his error and he did not seem to care that we had to sleep on filthy pillows using our clothes as pillow cases. Awful stay! we checked out early & will never recommend to anyone. what a rip off!
