Cancer treatment approval for my child

On 9 Dec 2013 my son (5yrs old) was diagnosed with a nephroblastoma (kidney cancer) medical aid was contacted by the Dr on the 10th Dec. Medihelp did not want to authorise the treatment as they needed to make sure that there was no possible generic chemo treatment. I contacted the call centre on 12th Dec and was told it should take about 36hrs for things to be approved. We covered the costs of our sons first chemo. We contacted the call centre again on the 18th they said it was approved, we would receive an sms. NOTHING. My husband contacted the call centre on the 19th and they said to authorise the treatment plan they needed the MCC report. I contacted the Dr they were waiting for the report to forward to Medihelp. I contacted Medihelp on the 23rd to get a voice recording to say they are closed over Christmas. HELLO my child has CANCER. CANCER does not take a holiday. Every day that passes is detrimental to his health!!! Fine I understood it was the day before Christmas. I contacted them again on the 26th as chemo was scheduled for the 27th and Dr had sent MCC report, and no call centre just email. This is ridiculous worst service ever! 3 weeks and still nothing. THIS IS MY CHILDS LIFE!
