Why hide behind indemnity

My daughters car was damaged when she drove over a stump that she could not see when she drove out of the area. After she reversed, she saw the stump damaged by radiator and upon inspection by the motor dealer, the aircon unit was also damaged as well as the front bumper. There are no reflective signs on the stump or in the vicinity to warn you about the danger. NO ONE WALKS TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR BEFORE YOU DRIVE OFF TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY OBSTACLE. I spoke to the owner who refused to do anything about the stump, or damages to my car. Called me stupid and said guests sign indemnity forms.

I will advise people to take into account the attitude of resort owners like this. They take your money but when you have damages due to a fault of theirs, they call you stupid.
