BAD SERVICE FROM MOMENTUM

I joined Momentum Health medical aid about 3months ago. I am so disappointed in the level of service we've been getting compared to my previous medical aid (GEMS). With GEMS we never had problems with claims, authorizations etc. My husband went to a specialist (Which we paid, as our savings have been depleted...) The specialist said my husband needed an operation, and sooner rather than later as my husband is in a lot of pain at the moment. When I phoned momentum for authorization, they told me that they'll first have to do a 'check-up' on him to see if this wasn't a long standing problem. (So now our GP and the specialist have to write reports saying this is not a long standing problem) Now why on earth would we have waited to get help if this was long standing. we always had a medical aid (and a much better one for that matter). So he could have had this sorted out long ago... if the problem was there long ago! In the meantime, while Momentum is busy with there time wasting 'investigations' my husband have to live with agonising pain... while waiting for authorization! I am so disappointed and sorry for choosing Momentum Health!!!
