Terrible customer service

Basically my girlfriend and myself stayed at Fordoun to celebrate our anniversary. While having our treatments in the spa, my girlfriend (who has been a beauty therapist for 9 years) pointed out various things through out the treatment that are unacceptable in any spa. When she email Richard, he replied stating how sorry they were and the incident was under investigation. The conclusion was that it was the neglect of the staff in the spa, and that if we were to stay at the spa again, they would give us a complimentary massage, which we really did appreciate, how ever it is a bit of a slap in the face, because the price of the petrol alone probably costs more than the massage, never mind the accommodation, and the fact we will only get the treatment if we stay over, running the risk of yet another bad experience. When I replied to Richard telling him how it was more of an insult, and specifically mentioning im not one for trying to get anything for free, and that I was going to the tourism council about this, he basically told me to do what I want, and that im only looking to get something free, and proceeded to attack my character.
