Unprofessional Behaviour by reservation office

I had fully paid for a weekend at Flintstones guest house, fourways. I had paid via EFT, emailed the payment confirmation and my details to the guest house. After 24hours, I had not yet received contact to confirm my reservation. When I called, Jackie at the reservation office admitted to forgetting to email. 5 days later, I still have not received confirmation after full payment. The SECOND phone call was unpleasant - Jackie admitted to having technical problems with emails unable to be sent. Despite being aware of this, she made no attempt to contact me and inform me of this. In addition, her manner was initially far less than apologetic, rather argumentative. She claims that her verbal confirmation 5days before was adequate and it was out of her hands to sort out unsent emails (and to attempt to contact guests via other means). This behavior is extremely unprofessional. The hospitality industry requires utmost courtesy and cordiality of its employees. It is mandatory in any public service profession. Failure to give written confirmation, failure to contact guest, being argumentative is unacceptable. It is a poor reflection of our South African hospitality industry.
