IF YOU WERE CONSIDERING DISCOVERY AS AN OPTION FOR MEDICAL AID THINK TWICE
So I join Discovery health in the belief that they are reputable customer centric company only to find out its quite the opposite!! A word of advice to those thinking to leave their current medical aid and especially those who require CHRONIC MEDS think again as the grass isn't always green on the other side as was unfortunate enough to find out.
I had a pituitary tumor which I had removed successfully but one of the side effects of the operation was DIABETE's INSIPIDUS which requires me to take Ddav0.1mg twice daily.
So I send through my chronic application along with the MRI scans and tests prior to my op and post my op dated September 2011 and October 2012 respectively, confirming that the tumor was removed. Discovery then come back to me stating it has been DECLINED with the reason REQUIRE MORE RECENT SCANS TO CONFIRM. Theres not enough space here to type the entire story, basically the staff who make these decisions have well not very extensive knowledge cause the scans they asking for will show nothing even a motivation from my doctor was not good enough. Bye discovery was not s pleasure dealing with
