Medical aid allows me too Suffe

Over the years Discovery Health has received loads of very negative coverage in the media; I however could not relate to this because I hardly ever use my Medical Aid. This abruptly changed for me today. I've paid my premium without complaints for over 10 years now. Now that I've contacted Discovery's Call Centre to follow up on an Authorization, my medical aid (DISCOVERY) advised me that my request has been declined by a professional panel and unfortunately I don't meet the criteria. In this regard I would like to know exactly what the criteria is that needs to be met? My quality of life has been drastically impacted by my condition. I am continually short of breathe and suffer from severe sleep deprevation due to the constant chest pains I am plagued by all of the time. I have undergone numerous tests ranging from CT scans, x-rays, blood work... up to and including lung breathing test. At present I have take anti inflammatory and 6 to 8 pain killers daily to control my discomfort which in the long run certainly is going to have far reaching implications on my overall health. My doctor wrote a motivational letter to confirm why it's paramount for me to undergo this operation.
