I have discovery keycare plus that i am paying R1330!! I visited my pathologist on the 27th June. Now discovery sends me an email saying they only covering R22 of the R435 consultation fee. And the reason is because i dont have a authorization and i told the lady i was speaking to that i have never ever heard of an authorization code that i need to get from Discovery because that was my 1st visit to my pathologist. Its totally ridiculous.

And the 2nd complaint is i have been buying medicine for almost a year now and 6 months ago my prescription got changed to whats covered by Discovery's formulary and everything my doctor wrote on there all the medication as per the formulary. But every time i go to Mkem they charge me R184 rand for medication because Discovery only covers R149 of the R338 which is again ridiculous. I called them and they told me my Pathologist needs to get a authorization code for that medication.

And after having visited my Dr he asked me what im spending on medication i said almost R200 it was complete shock to him because he said he prescribed everything according their formalry

Im seriously considering a getting an alternative medical aid now
