I was sent an email saying i had to visit gym 8 times before the end of the month (in 2 weeks) in order to retain my gym membership savings through Vitality, otherwise pay a R750 re-joining fee.

I wrote to them asking them to forgive my 'debit' as, while usually I go to gym 3 times a week, I had a complicated pregnancy last year and wasn't allowed to work out. Once the baby was born it was difficult to get to the gym often and instead we walked every day. I am now up to 1 gym visit a week.

I feel like i kept up the 'stay fit and healthy' part of the deal, and the pregnancy complications were out of my control. I could waste time (which i don't have a lot of, being a mom and business owner) and drive to gym to just swipe the tag 8 times, but that would be silly and would not be helping anyone.

So I asked Discovery to give me a break due to extenuating circumstances, but they refused. Really, Discovery? You say you care about your customers? You certainly don't behave that way.
