My 2yr old son had major surgey on 11/03/2013, there ws only 1 paediatric urologist in cape town able to perform his delicate surgery, becos the op ws performed at a non dsp hospital I had to pay a Co Payment of R5000 on his admission. I wrote an appeal letter to waiver the co-payment as im the sole provider for our family, and there ws simply no other doctor able to perform the surgery, and i wud hv to borrow the money to hv ths procedure done. I rcvd a letter 04/2013, the letter ws dated 28/03/2013 saying tht the co payment waiver ws approved, and i ws assured that I would be refunded the money that I had already paid. I have received emails asking to send bank statements, certfied copy of my ID and another letter, tht they were already instructed to refund me. I have sent all of the above, my calls for feedback go unanswered, as well as my emails. I dnt understand why promise tht I wud be refunded then just ignore me, I wud not hav appealed if i cud afford this in ths first place, I would really just appreciate some clarity on this. I am liable to pay the money back where i was forced to borrow it from. All the call centre agents say I should speak to Ciska Fourie, bt no answer!
