The Orphan

My wife was admitted for c-section at St Georges Life Hospital on 31st May 2013. The day after she started developing a fever. She called for the nurse (this was dayshift) who brought her a extra blanked, because she was shivering, they told her this is normal for post-operative. My wife phoned and told me she feels very bad. I phoned the ward as I was concerned about this. They told me she was fine this morning, I asked them to do a HB just to exclude bleeding, they told me they did the HB after theater yesterday and it was fine. I asked them again to repeat the HB and they told me there is no need for that. I phoned the nursing manager then, explained to her the reason for my concern, this was Sr Joubert, she would go to the ward. Apparently only then the Doctor was called, and blood test was requested, Hb was fine but she had a severe infection.
This is neglegence not to monitor patients in your care.
Then aftewards rerring to the patient as a orphan, because the husband is concerned. The husband is actually a qualified Paramedic.
Thanks to the Nightshift Staff who was on duty that time, you were subperb.
We would realy not consider going to St Georges again.
