At 07:50 I received a call from a friend who visited my mom at 1 Mil disaster hospital, advising that we should arrange for her to be taken back to the old age home by ambulance as she is severely neglected and her oxygen was taken away. I called Netcare 911 and spoke to Zama and supplied all the details. I was given a ref nr. (1306050097). I was asked to confirm with 1 Mil that the patient is discharged and then call her. She will then call hospital (I gave her the number) to confirm med condition of patient and ambulance will then transfer patient to address supplied. After many calls back and forth I realised I am not getting anywhere.By 11:00 the patient was still not collected and I called to cancel the ambulance. As all calls are recorded I informed the operator I will be reporting the poor service to hallopeter. After 5 minutes I received a call from someone (senior.) to apologise. Well I never! Do they also apologise if a patient passes on while waiting for their "emergency services" - 24 hours nogal! My advice: pray that you don't get sick or old, as you will find yourself between the devil and the deep blue sea!
