Overcharged

I was there for a consult on the 13th of March with Dr Pillay.

He offered to do the chronic forms at the same time without me asking. He did not inform me of an extra charge and I think that is unethical. I did explain we tried to get Bilocor approved in 2012 without success and that it is a waste of time to try again. They are only willing to approve atenelol and I am allergic to it. All this is in my file.

He also wanted to apply for Depramil. I told him depression is not on the list covered by my medical aid but he said it had changed and we should apply.

I agreed to try again but he did not once mention and additional charge. If he had I would not have done it because I did not think it would be approved, and indeed it was not.

My husband was with me as a witness.

He is a dedicated dr for this particular medical aid plan and should know better. They cannot charge me for a consultation to get a repeat script and then also to fill out forms, without being told of the extra cost.

I have tried to resolve it with Mariette and Tashan, who is very rude. We will not be going back so they have lost 4 patients but I suppose they do not care as they are making enough money.
