LG and Makro poor service

Electronics and household app.

In September 2012, I bought a flatscreen LCD TV (42CS460) from Makro Strubensvalley to the value of R4 499.00.When I opened the box at home, and set the TV up, on the bottom left hand corner of the TV.As it wasnt affecting the display of the TV, and didnt bother me, I left it as is, and didnt return it. But in December 2012, when I got home and switched the TV on, the whole display was affected, and it looked like the screen was cracked on the inside. I took the TV back to Makro, and asked for a replacement/refund, as it was still under warranty. I was then informed that it had to be sent in for assessment before they can replace/refund it. The TV was sent in in January 2013, and the repairer said that it was external damages and that they could repair it at a cost of R4 391.33 (this is R103 short of the original purchase price). And I was told that Makro was not going to replace the TV, as the warranty does not cover the screen. They also said that I should have taken it back within the first 14 days of noticing the scratch. The CPA clearly states that a customer has 6 months to return/replace a faulty product. I want to know how LG can let their suppliers treat their customers like this. Dispicable
