Samsung monitors poor quality, fails on promises

I bought a Samsung syncmaster s23b370 to connect to my mac mini using an hdmi cable. The quality of viewing was poor. I contacted samsung who said that this monitor was not mac compatible.

I returned the monitor to incredible connection and purchased another samsung monitor s24b370 that was mac compatible and said plug and play at a 25% premium to the other model. On connecting, the same issue seems to occur. I contacted Samsung who said that i should use a dvi cable as hdmi is problematic. Why sell me a monitor that says full hd, mac compatible and plug and play when it really isn't.

Also the inclusion of a vga cable to vga cable as opposed to an hdmi or dvi cable is pretty pointless.
