Poor Customer Experience

Electronics and household app.

I purchased a LG 42 inch LED TV in September 2011 from Dion Wired (Model 42LE4500.AFB) (Serial Number: 011GU00801). The TV came with a 12 month warranty.
My TV screen started developing a snowy picture on the LHS corner which eventually started to become a blackout for half of the screen.
My TV was out of warranty so I called the LG support centre to enquire on the repair for TV. I was directed to go to Xecutronix to repair my TV.I called Xecutronix and dropped off my TV for repair where I was told I would be contacted on the repair quote
I received a call from them informing me that the part required for my TV to be repaired was discontinued by LG and my TV could not be repaired hence I should pick up my TV. I was not given any remedy for me and had to call the LG call centre myself to enquire on the way forward - I received no response from the call centre nor emails sent nor twitter. I finally got a hold of LG and eventually they offered me a chargeable exchange - a smiliar model to mine at a fee - this was non-negotiable and I had 7 days to accept. The TV they offered is now not in stock - what happened to my 7 days? Shouldnt I be put into a better position with a better model
