I bought a Denon DSD 500 Docking Unit from Audio Excellence on the 21/10/13. It worked perfectly until the 09/01/14, when it just stopped working. It was clearly a power supply problem. I took it back to Audio Excellence on the 12/01/14 and was told that it had to be sent to Joburg for assessment and possible repair. I did mention the CPA to them but this was dismissed out of hand. They said THEY will decide what happens. I heard nothing for 2 weeks and when I phoned on the 24th Jan was told that they didn't know what was happening. I rang on the 31st again and was told someone would ring me back. I then received an email to state that the damage was caused by lightening and that I had to replace the unit at R4000. I phoned Gillian, who was very aggressive and belligerent on the phone, and was told that those are the facts and I must bear the cost of replacing the unit. There was no lightening when the unit failed and despite me telling her this there was no relenting on her side, and I felt that I was being blamed for the failure of the unit. This is not good enough and I feel very sorry for anyone who has to deal with these characters. THEY BEAR NO RESPONSIBILITY AT ALL.
