Too slow with Android firmware releases

I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. The latest firmware update has been available in other countries for months. They are preparing release of the next generation of this device and still SA does not have the update. I know this because I have friends around the world with the same device who have been on the new version for ages.

When I emailed them they simply say, sorry we don't know when it will be available.

What is the deal with Samsung SA? Why are you so ridiculously slow to update? This is a major issue with brands in SA. We want to offer the tech but we fall down on keeping them updated.

But I have a hunch I know what response I will see here. The same run around nonsense of you'll get it when you get it. Fact is, you sold the device already, you have your money. Why do you need to do anything else after that?
Personally I find it unacceptable.

Of course, I could very easily update myself but I'm trying to avoid that root. But you either need to get your backsides into gear and release the update with the rest of the planet or remove the clause that voids warranty when you update your own firmware.
