Huawei E156 Firmware & new User Interface update

I have a huawei E156 modem bought from MTN that has old firmware and user interface on it.

I went to MTN's website for an online update via the modem old user interface which worked fine (only for updating the UI and not the firmware) and as a result now because the firmware on the device is old and not updated, when installing the modem on another machine, it therefore installs using the old firmware which also results in the old User interface being installed by default.

This means that every time I install this modem on a different or new machine on my virtual machines I have to go online via the old UI of the device to update it to the new UI. This is time consuming and is waste on my data bundles thus the solution to this as per MTN's website as an alternative is to download the actual update files so to flash the device and update it with new firmware via the below link.

The problem with this is that when downloading this file (UTPS21.005.11.12.697_MAC21.005.11.12.697), the download does not complete, it stops at 5.9 mb and hangs until it fails completely with every browser.

Not pleased at all.
