LG HXD7 500 GB HDD

Purchased the above LG HDD from Makro in March 2012. Just after the 1 year warranty has passed the unit has failed, so lucky for me Makro have washed their hands off the problem.
LG have not been helpful. Contacted the 0800545454 - Julie at LG was to arrange for one of their experts to call me - no contact.
This is the second LG product I have tried and it has been a disappointment. Will I ever consider an LG product again? Perhaps not, as it seems that the made in Phillipines and assembled in China HDD is a load of junk that is sold to the unsuspecting consumer with our retailers complict in this scheme.
So the fact that I spent ZAR799 on this piece of junk manufactured by LG and sold by Makro, must have made them pretty happy, knowing that once their warranty clause kicks in they are home and dry.
