Totally unnecessary argument with dept manage

I ordered and paid in advance for new kitchen cupboards on the 16 Jan. (over R22 000)
Today I see that they are running a promotion from the 21 Jan - giving customers 10% discount on all kitchen cupboards.

As I have not received my units as yet I went into the branch to claim my 10% back.
I spoke to the returns consultant who was very helpful, however she did not have the authority, so she called the department manager Edna, Edna doesn't even greet me, I get this immediate: "what is the problem" from her.
I was told that "I cannot come after the fact and demand the difference".
I explained, that as I have not received the product as yet I am entitled to ask for the revised price.

after an hour of back and forth unprofessional behavior from her. I invoked my CPA rights.
As per Builders warehouse policy, any good ordered unseen off catalog are entitled to a 10 day return policy.
So I made them refund almost 100 items and then promptly went back to the friendly kitchen salesman (Hector) and reordered the exact items, only now at a 10% discount.

I was disgusted that Edna would not take ownership by just listening to me as the customer. This whole issue could have been avoided.
