Not open for business - a waste of time and money

This is a large company supplying ceiling boards, they have a monopoly which most probably explains their attitude. I wished to buy some ceiling board on 12 December and phoned the branch to confirm whether they would be open, they said 'yes'. I borrowed a van to transport the boards, I got to the branch to find the outlet open but the staff said they had been instructed not to sell any boards. On the counter was a letter signed by the MD stating the days on which they would be open. It mentioned that they would be open on 12th December for cash and carry sales. Pleading with the staff had no effect as they had been instructed by their accounts department not to sell anything. I tried phoning the head office to no avail. So all in all a waste of time, money and petrol due to bad communication. I would be very surprised to get a response from this company.
