Builders Warehouse
Misleadng advertising - Abrupt manageress

Construction & Repair

In the store last weekend & saw two standard lamps displayed in their lighting section. Price displayed on the base of each light was R 630-00 (large yellow tickets). Get to the cash point to be advised that the lamps are R 680-00 each. Get manageress (Erna I think) who advises that lamps are incorrectly priced & that there was a further R 200-00 odd payable for the shades. (Small print on price tag) I explained that I had not got down on my hands and knees to scrutinise the price tag, and that the way the lamps were displayed gave the impression that they were each a unit (I buy what I see).

The manageress was not interested and took the lamps off the cashier area and had them packed away.

Builders Warehouse, employ managers with the intellect & sort out your displays so that they are not misleading. This is like purchasing a car on the showroom and then finding out when you buy it that the doors, roof, motor etc. all cost extra but... HA!!!. it's on the fine print if you get down on your hands and knees.
