Incomplete job and empty promises to rectify

In January 2013 we contracted Stefan Oosthuisen for a paving job at our home. This was undertaken, but the grouting between the paving soon washed out. Also, the vertical side of the steps was not paved, just grouted, very unevenly. When Stefan was repeatedly contacted to rectify the issues, he eventually responded by sending someone over to re-grout the paving. This was done with a different colour grout, and half the steps were re-grouted with that different colour as well. Between my husband and I we repeatedly tried to contact Stefan via email, SMS and phone regarding this incomplete job. On occasion he responded and always promised to come to our house to look at the problem. Eventually, after threatening with the Small Claims Court, he arrived one Saturday and admitted that the steps should have been paved vertically and promised to do this and redo the grouting on the problem areas. A number of agreed dates were moved, and eventually there was no more response from Stefan. He has ignored all attempts at communicating since early October and has simply disappeared.
