Failed awning

Al awning installed an awning at my house on the 16 September at a cost of R31000 00. On 20 September it was blown by the wind onto my roof damaging tiles and a gutter. Al awning has not investigated why this particular awning failed as they claim they had no other damages in Johannesburg on the night. Albert refuses to accept liability. I cannot accept a replacement in the absence of an investigation why the awning failed something Albert has not offered to do. I have demanded a refund of the full purchase price but was only offered R15000 00. I find this conduct shocking in the extreme. In the meantime Albert has removed the damaged awning from my house and has cut it up into pieces apparently to sell it for scrap. I am now without an awning. I am R 31000 00 out of pocket. I don't have the damaged awning to at least recoup my loss. Be careful when doing business with this fellow.
