Continued.. 4.To top it all, Ian overcharged me for 5 square meters of paving. When I presented my measurements and calculations, they were accepted it.
The mistake I made was to accept the terms and conditions which require that 95% of the total amount is paid only 50% through the total project - before the paving, pump, or marbilite is done. I started partially withholding interim payment because so much was going wrong. I finally paid the entire amount 1 day after the pool was completed and water put in. I then received an email from Budget Pools reminding me that the terms and conditions included a clause that state that all guarantees are null and void if you didn't pay exactly according to the stated schedule - which I believe contravenes the Consumer Protection Act. I just hope that nothing goes wrong with the pool or the paving.
