I purchased a monitor and a keyboard and mouse combo from Chaos Computers on 19 August 2013. The total purchase amounted to R 1628.00. A colleague informed me that I paid far too much for the goods. I priced similar goods elsewhere and found a similar monitor at Makro for R 899 (vs R 1299 at Chaos) and the exact same mouse and keyboard combo for R 199 (vs R 329 at Chaos). I called Chaos on 20 August and spoke to Jason who confirmed that I can return the goods for a full refund even though they had been used for a brief period of time. I called again on Thursday 22 August and spoke to a Hussain who also confirmed that I may return the goods for a full refund. When returning the goods on Friday, the staff wanted to "check" whether the goods were still in a saleable condition. This took close to an hour. The staff then contacted the manager. He said that the goods are no longer in a saleable condition and he would refund me but would charge a handling fee. I refused and after arguing with the manager he agreed to a refund. I have to date not received this money and have been promised proof of payment which the I still have not received despite requesting it twice. Shocking service!
