Why sell something knowing I won't be able to use

Cars & Transport

The second hand Mini I bought from BMW Auto Atlantic in Cape Town came with a 2 year Motor Plan. Just before the end of the second year I was offered two options to extend the motor plan of my car by another year for R2501 or the more expensive option, by more than double, R6583, to extend the kilometres to which the motor plan would be included to km 80000. Now my car was on km 68900 at the time and the Motor plan would expire at km 75000 if I didn't buy the more expensive one even if I extended the time to another 12 months. What I don't understand is, why offer me something that I cannot use at all because they only service the car at 80000 km, they won't do it before that and they know I'm buying something I can't use. I may be a fool for having bought it but it shouldn't be allowed from a prestigious company like BMW to sell something they know I can not use. The other interesting fact is, is that I took my car for the service and guess what, the quote for it is around R5000 so if you buy the motor plan to extend the service of your car your are only just paying a year in advance for a service that will cost you slightly less when you take it to them.
I demand a full refund.
