Hillcrest Toyota
Fortuner trouble

Cars & Transport

I felt a water leak on the front driver side of my Fortuner on 24 March 2013. I'm not sure if it is the car's air conditioning system or as a result of rain but with less than 35 000 km on the clock this is unacceptable. Previously when it rained and/or the conditioning was on I noticed some water on the rubber mat and the car smelt damp a couple of times but on the 24th there was a constant trickle of water on my left foot. My wife has certain allergies and constantly sneezes when in the vehicle. I've noticed from several motoring forums that if leaks aren't fixed quickly, the carpet and padding underneath can become a breeding ground for mildew and harmful bacteria which I believe happened in this instance as a result of a latent defect to the vehicle. From my e-mails sent to them it does not seem that either Toyota or the dealership intend to address this problem swiftly as they keep promising to get back to me but never do. Subsequently I paid Hillcrest Toyota thousands to fix the problem but seemingly no repairs were done as the problem is worse than before with a new substantial leak noticed on the passenger side after the vehicle was sent for repairs.
