Car Service City deceives unaware people

My wife took her car in for a service at Car Service City in December. My wife and I are in no way mechanically minded people and this is the reason why we utilise services such as this.

The service was done and we went to collect the car. When we got there the car seemed to be alright but we wouldnt be able to know any better anyway. We were sunsequently given a quote on multiple discovered things that were apparently "wrong" with the car. This whole quote amounted to around R8000 worth of supposed repairs that needed to be made. Something didnt feel right and so I sought a second opinion from a mechanic. It turns out that only 1 or 2 minor things on that list were actually a real problem and the rest were just made up problems.

Furthermore, the mechanic detected that my wifes car had completely worn out shocks that were INCREDIBLY dangerous and needed to be replaced immediately! Not once was this mentioned to us following the service and shocks were not even on the list of the many problems with the car.

This is disgusting and a terrible way to do business! You take advantage of people who dont know any better who rely on you to keep them safe on the roads.
